The vase looks like a three-dimensional graphic: four individual surfaces, each printed with stripes, meet and touch each other without disturbing each other. The severity is softened by a fifth surface decorated with ornaments and two "buttons" that are diagonally opposite each other where the surfaces meet. The glaze, which appears on the surfaces in light brown tones and highlights the depths and edges in turquoise, also makes the strict geometry appear softer.
Its large opening allows it to accommodate branches or thick-stemmed flowers. It is made from individual patterned pieces, transparent on the inside and glazed in two colors on the outside, and fired at 1,200 degrees.
