handmade sheep made of clay ceramic sheep yellow glazed handcraft vase flowerpot flowerpot container utensil

$159.57

This is where functionality and aesthetics meet: a sheep made of earthenware clay that you can use for all kinds of things - as a utensil holder for tools or cosmetic items, as a flower vase with floral foam for flowers, grasses and branches, or as a planter for a houseplant.

I made the sheep's body freehand as a tapered cuboid and, to keep it from getting boring, I decorated it with all sorts of things. If you look closely, you'll find everyday items pressed in, such as buttons, sieves and parts of crocheted doilies, but also sections of pattern rollers and grids. I coated all the indentations with dark brown underglaze and then wiped them off again so that the color only remained in the indentations. Then I partially glazed the piece with yellow matte glaze and yellow glossy glaze. VoilĂ  - after a few hours of work and three firings, it was finished and is now waiting for an animal lover.

Unfortunately, the beautiful, warm and cheerful yellow is not reflected very well in the photos, so I looked in the standardized color chart for the matching yellow tones. The gloss glaze is most similar to RAL 1012 (Lemon Yellow), the matt glaze to RAL 1018 (Zinc Yellow).
