Snails are by no means just a symbol of slowness: they primarily represent renewal, growth and change, and in African culture they also represent fertility and life. It is no wonder that the spiral shape can be found in many areas of everyday life, as it also reminds us of cycles and return, giving us hope and confidence.
I also really like the snail shape. I have given it a harmonious shape as a bowl - no corners, no edges are disturbing; the delicate spiral slowly opens up and offers more space towards the end for beautiful or appetizing things.
It is made of red earthenware clay that I covered with a shiny white glaze.
